The mind loves to get its teeth into problems. Well, mine is no exception. This afternoon, while I was scrolling the news editorials, a question made me think "Is history actually running backward?"
Events are quite repetitive. Particularly, those which push us into or pull us from the vicious cycle of sorrow. History is blur and teary-eyes make it appear more shallow or at times opaque. Wars, conflicts, negotiations are an integral part of History. Every event has a serious consequence on mental peace and at times, on those not directly associated.
One would suppose that those witnessing a particular event have an inkling that something is going to affect the bond prices. No, not at all. Can you really have an intuition of future uncertainty? Massive records, numismatics, epigraphy are presented in a distorted way.
Our thought processes are often guided by preconceived notions. We tend to see the box but, not the shallow depths. Restrictive thinking makes the opposition shine. Empirical reality is often misinterpreted by facts leaving behind the true journey of our ancestors. With time, every debacle is an avenue to a new beginning. It becomes a positive process only when one has learned from the experience.
Human beings are blessed with sufficient reason. We must employ the rational faculty to assess nature, course of action, intuition, circumstances, end. This kind of self-evaluation is essential. History emphasizes on self-criticism. As human beings, we are capable of self- evaluation. Introspection is the greatest quality we are endowed.
Human's intuition and curiosity into deciphering various sources thereby enabling a very deep knowledge of what has happened. Nassim Nicholas Taleb pointed out that, History has some logic and many developed through contradictions that elevated mankind into higher forms of society.
Humans created fiction which at times can be dangerously misleading. But the cutthroat evidence of past happenings helps us only to evolve. What has can be a better teacher than experience?
Experience is the most precious possession ever. Experience when combined with reason its analysis feeds your thought. Inturn affecting the process of the action. Unprocessed past leads to suffering. One moment, just breathe, dive into what has happened. Punishing your moral faculty is not the rational cue. Pain is the ignition to the flame of enlightenment. The processed event with lessons learned and morals realized is bliss. That moment, you really breathe, with all senses involved. It is not just oxygen feeding your soul but also the conscious present.
"History is not just a backward process, but the excerpts and lessons learned have a forward linkage.”
